What is doorbell?
doorbell is a South African direct-commerce and delivery platform. Restaurants, grocery, retail and ghost kitchens take orders on WhatsApp, a branded site or app, then we help with dispatch, tracking and support — without marketplace commissions.
How does WhatsApp food ordering work?
You send specials in WhatsApp. The customer opens a branded order, pays, and tracks the driver. The conversation stays yours.
Is this an Uber Eats or Mr D alternative?
Yes, for operators who want a direct channel. Marketplaces still help with discovery. doorbell is for owned ordering plus delivery ops, so you keep the customer.
Do you take a commission per order?
No marketplace commission on your direct orders. The channel is a subscription: R1,000 per store per month for branded apps/web, dispatch, tracking, and customer care. Cancel anytime (30-day notice).
Who is doorbell for?
SA restaurants and franchise groups, grocery and retail, and ghost kitchens that want branded delivery and already have weekly volume.
Where do you operate?
South Africa. The team is based in Claremont, Cape Town. Delivery zones are set per merchant during onboarding.
Do you provide drivers?
Yes — the subscription includes managed delivery ops: driver dispatch, routing, live tracking, confirmation, and customer care from order to door.
Are you the Ring doorbell, DoorDash, or Doorbell Malawi?
No. doorbell.delivery is a Cape Town company for restaurant and retail direct delivery.
Can we keep our existing POS / stack?
Yes. We integrate with your existing POS or web stack where possible, or run ordering on doorbell and connect the pieces you already use.
