Direct ordering + managed delivery for South African restaurants

Direct ordering + managed delivery for South African restaurants and retail. Branded apps, web, drivers, and customer care from order to door — R1,000 per store per month.

What is a direct delivery app?

A direct delivery app lets a business take orders on its own website, app or WhatsApp and deliver them to customers without listing on a marketplace like Uber Eats or Mr D. In South Africa, doorbell provides direct delivery apps: custom-branded ordering plus managed drivers and driver fleet management, under the merchant’s own brand.

Why doorbell

We don’t just supply the tech and driver fleet management. We own fulfilment from the moment the order is placed until it lands.

Delivery model

  • Standard radius: up to 5 km
  • Where viable, extend to 10 km
  • Beyond 5 km: R10 per km, paid by the customer
  • Maximum: 10 km
  • Base fee within 5 km: R50 per completed delivery — customer pays R45, the store contributes R5

Marketplace comparison

Marketplaces take 20–30% commission. On a typical R300 order that is R60–R90 plus a small customer delivery fee. With doorbell the customer pays R45 within 5 km whether the food is R150, R300, or R600. You can keep in-store menu prices and specials. Learn more about running your own direct delivery app.

Fulfilment standard

If a delivery will miss the ETA, we call the customer. If a poor experience is caused by a doorbell driver, we contact them and, where appropriate, pay for a full replacement order. That cost sits with doorbell, not the store. No commitment · Cancel anytime.

Timeline
